The project is located within the Historical City Walls World Heritage Site. To the north lies a cemetery that forms a dense green area within the urban fabric, while the existing Pulmonology Hospital campus is located to the east. The Historical City Walls extend along a north-south axis approximately 240 meters west of the site, with their southern end connecting to the adjacent park.

The alignment of the park serves as an important reference for the placement of the building. Conceived as an extension of this urban recreational space, the building is set back to create a generous public open space. An open-air amphitheater and landscaped areas along the street edge define the main public approach. The polyclinic entrance is directly associated with this area, responding to the high level of pedestrian activity anticipated throughout the day.

Taking advantage of the site’s topography, the main hospital entrance is positioned at the +5.00 level and connected to the existing healthcare campus. Oriented toward the west, the entrance is emphasized by a high, generous canopy. Access to the Emergency Department, Technical Units, and Morgue is provided at the -5.00 level on the eastern side of the site, allowing direct connection to the street leading to the main road.

Setbacks, horizontal and vertical shifts in the building mass, and the extensive use of transparent façades at ground level reduce the perceived scale of the structure and strengthen its relationship with the surrounding context. A subtle shift in the building geometry creates a welcoming gesture toward the primary approach. The façade adopts a rhythmic and restrained architectural language, with carefully selected materials creating a warm atmosphere while maintaining an overall sense of simplicity.

The 400-bed hospital comprises three basement levels, three levels that establish connections with the surrounding terrain at different elevations, and three additional upper floors. The building has a total enclosed construction area of 131,655 m². The Technical Service Unit, with a separate entrance at the -5.00 level, is integrated with the main hospital at the basement levels.
