VAN WOMAN, CHILD AND CARDIOVASCULAR HOSPITAL with 500 beds
Branch hospital with 500 beds that was planned after 2011 Van earthquake is on the same land with existing General Hospital with 400 beds. It provides to be commonly used of specific departments by connecting with existing hospital from bed and service floors. Since the hospital is in the 1st-degree seismic zone, it was planned by earthquake insulator system. The insulators in the roof of the basement have allowed for different displacements of the upper structure. The building that has approximately 25,000 m2 floor area was dissolved by a single dilatation. The basement was offered as an indoor garage because of the insulator system. The climate is one of the most important factors affect the design. The roof skin that covers the whole building was used as structure outer face in the especially third floor. Roofing material was maintained to the ground in some of the fronts. The roof slope that continues to the surface in the third floor participated in the indoor design in the patient bedroom solutions. External patient, internal patient and personnel flows were separated in unit zonings via vertical and horizontal circulation; circulation conflicts have been avoided as well.
