Hospital

Iraq Mosul Hospital

Ibn Sina Hospital is located in the northwest of Mosul city center, on a site of approximately 31,997 sqm with direct connections to the city’s main roads. The site is defined by a delta with a 5% slope to the northeast, while the Tigris River and the Third Bridge form significant environmental references to the north.

Designed as one of the first healthcare facilities within the redevelopment of Mosul’s healthcare district, the hospital is planned as a compact 600-bed complex. The main hospital building consists of a podium and a bed tower, bringing together the principal healthcare functions within an integrated architectural organization. Technical units serving the hospital campus are accommodated in a separate Technical Service Building.

The Tigris River and the expansive landscape it creates constitute one of the most important contextual elements of the project. The orientation and spatial organization of the bed tower are therefore developed to maximize the relationship between patient rooms and this landscape, strengthening visual connections with the surrounding environment.
