1000 BED HEALTH CAMPUS
The Integrated Health Campus comprises four buildings: the Main Hospital with a capacity of 1000 beds, an Oral and Dental Health Center, a Nursery, and a Technical Service Unit. Planned on a 300,000 m² plot of land, the health campus is designed by leveraging the elevation differences across the expansive terrain.
The Main Hospital consists of a central block housing the emergency and operating theater, along with six wards and polyclinic blocks. Entrances are defined at the angled junctions of the blocks, creating open courtyards surrounding the structure, from where entries are taken. The emergency entrances are positioned on one side of the central block, while the main hospital entrance and conference hall are located on the other side. Taking advantage of the natural slope of the terrain around the building, three different ground levels are utilized. Polyclinics are located on the ground and first floors of the ward blocks, with entrances on the ground floor of each block to distribute external patient circulation. Distinctions are made in circulation between staff, patients, and visitors, with horizontal and vertical circulation and zoning separating external patients, internal patients, visitors, and staff flows to prevent circulation conflicts. Vertical and horizontal circulation elements are planned in different zones for Patients, Visitors, Staff, and Services. Mechanical spaces placed on the upper floors of the building, being a healthcare facility, are covered with a shell maintained on the façade and roof.
As a foreseen consequence of the mass form of the building, its interaction perimeter is maximally engaged with the surrounding natural geography. An imaginative focus is placed at the ends of the ward and polyclinic blocks extending outward. The contrast between light and dark tones characterizes the materials used on the building facade, distinguished by an orange hue, creating a dynamic image. The contact of interior spaces with daylight is emphasized, and controlled natural lighting is provided through sunshades on the facade in areas identified as necessary. Warm and tranquil effects are created in defining the program of interior spaces through the materials and colors used. Entrance areas are highlighted with metal canopies on the facade and emphasized with galleries inside.
In addition to the general hospital, the Main Hospital houses specialty hospitals including pediatric, orthopedic/neurology, maternity, cardiovascular, and oncology hospitals. With 2 basements and technical floors, the total closed construction area of the 7-story building is 311,264 m². The total closed construction area of the health campus, including other buildings, is 334,252 m².
